Rebekah Burch Basinger

Rebekah Burch Basinger
Program Director
Rebekah Burch Basinger has been associated with the In Trust since 1991, first as a member of the organization's governing board and then, for the past four years, as a part-time staff member. She brings to her work with In Trust a rich history in higher education administration, having held senior positions at three church-related colleges and two educational associations, and also ten years as a consultant on fundraising and board development. She holds a bachelor's degree from Trinity College in Illinois and earned graduate degrees at Wichita State University in Kansas and Temple University in Philadelphia. She serves on the boards of MAP International and Pacific Lifeline Ministries, and recently completed two terms of board service with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Jay Blossom

Jay Blossom joined In Trust's staff in 2005, having previously served as manager of corporate, foundation, and membership giving at Partners for Sacred Places, a nonprofit organization that supports historic houses of worship. He has also served on the editorial staffs of medical publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, the academic journal Church History and the William and Mary Alumni Association. He earned a bachelor's degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduate degrees at the College of William and Mary and Duke University, where he studied American religious and cultural history.

Matthew Chalfant joined In Trust's staff in 2006 after having served as office manager and marketing director at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, where he planned and marketed extracurricular educational events on university campuses nationwide. His experience includes member recruitment, advertising, direct mail marketing, and public relations, as well as digital media. He earned a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Delaware.

Melinda Heppe has been with In Trust since 1992 as assistant editor, associated editor, and now contributing editor and writer of the regular Spirit Matters column. She holds a master of divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and a licentiate in sacred theology (concentrating in dogmatic theology) from St. Patrick's College in Maynooth, Ireland. In addition to her work for In Trust, she pastors two small Lutheran churches in the coal-mining region of eastern Pennsylvania.

Christa R. Klein is the president and executive director of In Trust Inc. and an In Trust governance mentor. A founder of In Trust magazine, she has served as a consultant on governance to Lilly Endowment Inc., the Association of Governing Boards, the Association of Theological Schools, and dozens of individual seminaries. She is an American church historian by training and knows theological school governance from all angles as a former faculty, board and administrative team member.

Faith Mayes

Executive Assistant
Faith Mayes came to In Trust with extensive experience in providing support to senior executives. Her background includes administrative work at major corporations like Kimberly Clark and Qualex, as well as a number of years of church volunteer work in fundraising and special events. She has a bachelor's degree from Philadelphia Biblical University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Nettia Shepper joined In Trust's staff in 2006. With a bachelor's degree in journalism from Temple University, she came to In Trust with experience in customized databases, copy-editing, and grant research and writing that supported a variety of nonprofit organizations.

Mark Sullivan

Mark Sullivan
Webmaster
Mark Sullivan joined In Trust's staff in 2003, leaving iVillage.com to become In Trust magazine's managing editor and webmaster. He is currently working part-time as In Trust's webmaster while he attends graduate school at the University of Maryland Baltimore's School of Social Work. Mark received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University, and in 2003 published his first novel, Jonah Sees Ghosts.
