James T. Laney
James T. Laney is president emeritus of Emory University and was co-chairman of an independent task force on "Managing Change on the Korean Peninsula," sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations. As U.S. Ambassador to South Korea (1993-1997), he was credited with playing a key role in defusing the 1994 nuclear crisis with North Korea.
