The Rev. William J. Carl III, Ph.D. retired as president of homiletics at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2005 after serving for 10 years. Before coming to the Seminary, Carl served as pastor of the 1,700-member First Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, for 22 years.
