The Newsletter for Chairs of Theological School Boards
Vol. 2 No. 8

Over the past few months, I’ve mentioned our new Governance Initiative, and today, I’m excited to tell you more and invite you to participate in it!

Thanks to a generous multi-year award from Lilly Endowment Inc., the In Trust Center’s Governance Initiative will explore what governance of theological schools looks like, consider the necessary practices and models, and then determine how we best offer support.

This week, we’ve launched a survey of executive leaders and advisory and governing boards of theological schools in partnership with the Association of Theological Schools. You should have received an email about it earlier this week.

I have two requests:

  • First, if you haven’t completed the survey, would you plan some time to do so? It should take about 15 minutes.
  • Second, would you also encourage your board to take the survey?

Your and your board’s participation are essential because the survey will provide a fuller understanding of the field and help us frame the work ahead. It’s the first survey of its kind in the field in more than a decade.

If you haven’t received the email with the survey or you need the survey link, please email the team here. We’ll quickly respond. You can also find more information on our website here

Thank you in advance for your participation in this important work.

With gratitude for all you do in theological education,

Amy Kardash
President
