News & Insights

In the Winter issue of In Trust magazine, Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, O.P., wrote a piece about FIPSE money, a grant made possible to higher education institutions through the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act. We asked him about a news item about the potential for more money under the act. Here's what he wrote:

Recently, the Department of Education released its allocations for the supplemental funding provided in the recent stimulus bill. While called CARES2 by some, the funds are referred to using the name of the Act by which they were authorized, namely "CRRSAA," the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.  For those who received the CARES Act grants last summer and fall, check out this site for how much more your school is scheduled to receive now. Note that if you submit your annual report by February 1, you'll receive this significant addition to your earlier cash disbursement without needing to reapply. It'll just show up in your G5 system, and you can draw it down. See this site for the details.
