The In Trust Center for Theological Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew J. Hufman as the new vice president for communication.

Matt will oversee all publications and communications for the In Trust Center and will serve as publisher of In Trust magazine.

“Matt has a demonstrated commitment to theological education and the expertise to drive the vision for our communications, building on the legacy of In Trust magazine,” says In Trust Center president Amy Kardash. “After an extensive search process, I am thrilled to welcome Matt to the In Trust Center.”

With more than two decades of experience in journalism and higher-education communication, Matt currently serves as chief marketing and communications officer at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, where he reports to the president and bears responsibility for overall marketing and communication strategy. Previously he spent more than a decade at the Las Vegas Sun, where he was part of the team that won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.

Matt is a licensed Assemblies of God minister and holds a master of divinity degree from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He brings a deep appreciation and respect for the broad range of faith traditions and experiences of the In Trust Center’s members and affiliates as well as a broad understanding of the trends, challenges, and opportunities facing theological schools.

Matt and his wife, Dawn, have three children.

Matt will begin his role at the In Trust Center on October 26, 2020.
