Two new fall webinars will help leaders

The fall slate of In Trust Center webinars is sure to engage leaders across the institution. They include:
  • Stakeholder Management Planning: Every organization has people with outsized influence. Leaders need a different way to communicate with these stakeholders. Josh Peskin, Ph.D., an expert in organizational communications, will provide an overview of how to engage with these stakeholders and how to expand the story in his webinar at 1 p.m. ET Sept. 13. Learn more and register here. 
  • Called to the Chair: Board Leadership for Unsettled Times: Governance expert Rebekah Basinger, Ed.D., addresses the opportunities and challenges that come with chairing the board of a theological school. She will cover how to design effective board meetings, enhance board member engagement, and develop the board for long-term effectiveness while giving attention to the board chair & president partnership and the critical importance of call in both roles. Listening to the best of theological education

Before summer slips away, make sure you listen to and subscribe to the Good Governance podcast, which brings together thought leaders and innovators in theological higher education. Be sure to catch up on important recent episodes, including:

  • When Dr. David Rowe stepped in as the interim president of Lancaster Theological Seminary, the board of directors and senior staff had been having conversations about the future. For Lancaster, there was a question of how to preserve the mission for future generations. The result was a merger that provides a positive vision for the years ahead. In this episode of the podcast, Rowe and Elizabeth Palmer Bennett, who was CFO at Lancaster, discuss how the merger came about, what they saw in the field, and lessons they learned in the process. Click here to listen to Episode 48. The conversation provides a robust discussion on how the school created a framework to consider the mission and then acted on it.
